Jacks was a small kennel, breeding a few litters
of Jack Russell Terriers per year with emphasis
on type, temperament and soundness. I strived for
a strong, active lithe working Terrier of great
character with flexible body of medium length,
25cm to 30cm tall with a variety of colour and
coat. Burbunya Jacks were well socialised and were
raised in my home with my young children and half
the neighbourhood for that matter.
Burbunya Jacks was established shortly
after the adoption of a Jack Russell Terrier bitch
"Missie". I have always been owned by
dogs of some description or another - I think
it is just part of the Australian culture to own
a dog or two (in this case more - as I find the
Jack Russell Terriers are terribly addictive).
After many years of researching different breeds
I came to the conclusion that I very much liked
the Jack Russell Terrier. They are wonderfully
active little terriers with so much to offer,
such adorable and individual personalities and
a zest for life.
After further research (that still continues),
I found that there was and still is, a great deal
of controversy over the breed, including a visible
variance in the interpretation of the Breed Standard
around the world, state to state and even kennel
to kennel. Everyone has their idea of what makes
a perfect Jack Russell Terrier.
This web site is an accumulation of all the information
I have collected over the years about the breed. Unfortunately, due to family and work committments I no longer breed Jack Russell Terriers.
Enjoy your time on our website meeting our family and friends.
